I recently got a Sandisk USB-C, USB 3.1 Type A dual flash drive. The problem is, when trying out the flash drive with the TB3 ports it runs at 2.0 speeds. However, if I plug it into a regular Type A port I can get that 3.1 speed and a much cooler flash drive (Burning hot in TB3 vs warm to touch in Type A). So what is wrong here? Is this reduction in USBC speed because of TB3 or SanDisk's design?

Thanks for posting in the Community,
As per the ports specification in PSREF,
* Depending on many factors, actual data transfer speed may be lower than theoretical speed
