Fn + Spacebar - when to use this?

I have never seen Fn + Spacebar do anything.  On the paper that came with the ThinkPad, it says this magnifies the screen contents.  But nothing happens when using this with the net, or looking at an image, so when does this work?

Re: Fn + Spacebar - when to use this?

It "magnifies" the screen by temporarily reducing the resolution. You need to have the ThinkPad Full Screen Magnifier utility installed for this to function.

Re: Fn + Spacebar - when to use this?

I see.  I didn't realize I had to install something to make it work.  I wonder why only one of the Fn keys needs something extra installed to work?  Seems odd to me...

Re: Fn + Spacebar - when to use this?

It should've came preloaded. If you installed a stock OS, then it would've been part of the Hotkeys Integrations package.

It's just how it's done. Better than a huge EXE always staying resident to handle every possible hotkey action. Smiley Wink

Re: Fn + Spacebar - when to use this?

So maybe it is broken then, because I haven't done anything to the computer except us it since I got it.  I installed no extra operating system, for instance.

Oh well, one broken thing (so far) doesn't bother me too much.

Might be; it's sometimes useful, but not really.
