Re: advice needed HDD caddy ultra bay

which model caddy did you get? Also, when you say it doesn't recognise it, does the bios refuse to recognise it too?

Re: advice needed HDD caddy ultra bay

This is Netherlands company, ``HDC``, I selected HDD Caddy especially for Thinkpad w540. I'm not advanced user and can not understood what `bios recognition means. fact, that in MY Computer dont shows another drive

Re: Hdd Caddy for bay adapte

Do you see HDD1 item (the drive in Ultrabay) and its model in BIOS Setup menu?

Re: Hdd Caddy for bay adapte

Startup menu -> Boot -> Boot priority order.

Make sure that the HDD1 with its model is on the Boot priority order list. If it is on the Excluded from boot order list, it is disabled.

Re: Hdd Caddy for bay adapte

In the upper list? IMHO it means HDD is inserted unproperly or drive bay is incompatible. Is Ultrabay Lenovo original (has Lenovo FRU) or from 3rd party manufacturer?
