I have recently purchased a Lenovo ThinkPad P50 (20en0013us), which came with 8 GB Samsung ram memory.
It operates at 2133 Mhz at default, but it is listed as 2400 Mhz memory, is there a way to increase the speed, and where I can find the switch to do that. I know it must be somewhere XMP profile or something similar to be enabled, but dont see one in the Bios menu (latest bios).

The ThinkPad P50 is limited to 2133MHz speed for its RAM, as that was the frequency of RAM available when it was designed. Due to some changes in RAM manufacturing, those manufacturers were rapidly able to improve yields for higher frequency RAM and started shipping it into the channel several months after the P50 was released. Eventually, RAM manufacturers replaced shipments of 2133MHz with 2400MHz, which down-clocks to the 2133MHz speed.
The ThinkPad P51 does support 2400MHz speed for its RAM modules, so if your usage does require 2400MHz RAM, you may wish to return the ThinkPad P50 and replace it with a ThinkPad P51.
