I also did some checking on the P50 specs.  NVMe is supported in the 2.5" form factor, but not as M.2.

 

So there is definitely something weird going on with the info you were given/provided.  I would take what you have and work it through the sales/support teams as best you can.  I truly believe the memory issue is simply a typo somewhere as just about every spec site I can pull up on P50s clearly calls out DDR3.  The SATA vs. PCIe issue is a little peculiar.  I wasn't able to configure any P50s with NVMe on the online configurator, so I'm guessing it was done through some sort of specific model or special bids, which is maybe where the confusion in drive type came into play.  Unfortunately I can't really help much more than that.
