I am planning to populate all 4 slots of memory with 4GB each. A pair of the memory cards I bought are 'dual channel kit'. The question is where to put these two so that the pair works as a dual channel memory?
From the manual it is not really clear which one is which slot. I am guessing, the slots under the keyboard are termed as SLOT 0 a (top) and SLOT 0 b (bottom). Similarly the bottom ones are SLOT 2 a (left) and SLOT 2 b (right).
From the official W510 video, it looks like SLOT 0a and SLOT 2a are primary modules and SLOT 0b and SLOT 2b are secondary modules. In video these are termed as 1 & 3 under the keyboard and 3 & 4 bottom.
Does the pair goes to the SLOT 0a & SLOT 0b? That is the place under the keyboard.
Or does the pair go to SLOT 0a & SLOT 2a? One on top one on the bottom, but both in the primary channel.

Here is a video doing the same on a W510:

I am going to order the W520
and the model is the same with yours, and I have the same idea that I will upgrade the Memory
My question is. what is the brand of the original memory in your W520
I would like to buy the same brand with original
I heard that some W520 equipped with G.skill and some with Elpida
Which one is yours?
Thanks
