Hello. I have newly bought Lenovo ThinkPad W520 mobile workstation. After water spilled on the labtop it's turned off. The Fingerprint is lighting, and when the AC power cord is connected the battery icon is lighting. What is the problem migh be?

You should have left it to dry for two days before reattaching the AC and battery.

Darn. You already turned it on. Get a new motherboard and go from there.

Cheers

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad W520 water spill

Leave it to dry for 48 hours. There may still be hope. Had a friend who did something similar to his T510, and after two days it booted, except the wifi card fried.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad W520 water spill

Remove all power sources and batteries.  Get a hairdryer, or put the laptop in an air-tight box with those dry packs (dehumidifier).  NEVER "attempt" to power on when wet.

My friend has some older Toshiba laptop, probably even without spill-resistant magic keyboard and once she asked me for help because she spilled it with LARGER amount of water, but after drying it still works
