The Lenovo W700 I ordered shipped on August 19th and is somewhere in customs as I post this.
I discovered the price has dropped by almost $300 so I requested a quote and called Lenovo Customer Service to request a price match.
I was able to order every component on my original system the same with the exception of the WiFi option. My system is configured with
42X5669 SBB INTEL WIMAX+3X3WIFI - This option is not currently available
Lenovo states in order to price match the parts must be identical; no exceptions, even if the price difference is $1.00.
The option available now is - 42X6325 SBB INT.WIFI LINK5300
I have 21 days from August 19th to request a price match but unless all options are exactly the same Lenovo will not match the price.
I was told that if the exact same card is not offered again, along with any other items not available when I request a quote for a price match, I am out of luck.

300 USD in USA for Thinkpad is quite significant almost 15% of the laptop's total cost.

A reply! Thanks. I'm not sure what kind of activity this forum gets yet.
My W700 arrived on August 25th and after numerous BSOD before finishing set up and two complete system restores, Lenovo is sending out a box for me to ship the unit to the service depot.
What's another week. Shouldn't that extend my 21 days a couple weeks?
