Hi there, had to reinstall windows 10 on P1 thinkpad. Seems like I lost bunch of lenovo specific functionality. Particularly, the middle click of the touchpad buttons don't work anymore. I noticed the thinkpad tab under additional settings > mouse properties is missing all together. How do I get these back?

You probably need to install all the Lenovo Drivers for your system. You can do so using one of the methods linked below/
P1 (Type 20MD, 20ME) Laptop (ThinkPad) (Manual updates)
Lenovo System Update: Update Drivers, BIOS and Applications (Automated update)
Lenovo Vantage (Automated update)

I tried both vantage and "system update" apps of lenovo. They install some of the stuff but clearly they are leaving out a bunch of drivers that I see in your first link. I am not sure how many of those drivers I am supposed to install, so I was hoping that the "system update" or Vantage would take care of everything for me. Apparently not. Is there an easy way to know what lenovo drivers one should install now that I have a wiped out clean reinstall of Windows 10? If not, at least knowing which drivers would be good for middle click restoration, would be good. I already installed the trackpoint firmware update. Didn't do anything to restore middle click.

Have you checked in Lenovo Vantage > Hardware Settings > Input > Trackpoint settings? There is an option related to scroll or middle click.
Also, what version of Windows are you using? My P52 came with 1903 and I need 1809, I had to clean-install...
