Micro Hard Drive impact while swapping HDD with SSD in W530

Hi,

With 16GB mSATA Solid State Cache Drive installed  on W530, is it advisable to replace HDD with SSD ?

Will there be any impact on 16GB mSATA Solid State Cache Drive after replace ? like will it be useless or need to re-configure ?

Thanks.

Re: Micro Hard Drive impact while swapping HDD with SSD in W530

Hello,

If you replace the primary (2.5") HDD inside a W530 with a SSD, you can remove the 16GB mSATA SSD.  It was used with ExpressCache software to act as a cache the 2.5" HDD, but a 2.5" SSD is faster than the 16GB mSATA SSD, so attempting to use it to cache the 2.5" SSD will result in decreased 2.5" SSD performance.
