New Wlan Intel Driver and 4G/LTE mobile device (Internet sharing/hotspot) - crash problem

2013-07-24, 22:19 PM

Hi,
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad W520 (4284-A43).
Today I updated my wlan driver to the latest version using this file: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/g1w218ww_s32.exe
After that update the PC crashes every time i connect to Internet using a Nokia Lumia 925 with internet sharing.
I have WIN7 32bit.

Woraround: rollback of WLAN driver. Currently, I have release 14.3.0.6 (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6502) and it works without problems.

Same issue found on Internet where an other using is using a Motorola 4G device:

I hope this is useful.
I think you should advise Intel.
Ciao

Mirko

Hi there. I have the same problem.

My ThinkPad X220i crashes every time I connect to Nokia Lumia 720 Internet sharing. Connection to iPhones and other hotspots work flawlessly.

Pretty disappointed with ThinkPad, a big name for high performance for business purposes.

Does anyone perhaps know what driver I should use to solve this problem?

Many thanks in advance!
