P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Just received P1 gen2 a few days ago. Updated BIOS to latest 1.26, switched graphics to Discrete.

Brightness control no longer works in Windows 10 and brightness is set to approx 50% all the time.

Tried with Lenovo nVidia drivers and all available nVidia drivers for T2000, same thing.

What's going on?

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

If you switch the BIOS setting to "hybrid" (instead of "discrete"), does the brightness control start working?

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Yes, brightness control works if Hybrid is selected in BIOS, but this still doesn't resolve the issue.

Understood, and we will fix this.  It's just something you can do for short-term if you need the brightness control to work until then.  Sorry for this trouble.

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

I ended up installing the latest DCH drivers off NVidia's website directly and it worked for me.

I had to disable Hybrid because my system screen kept going blank with the Intel GPU drivers that are installed.

Then there is the IR Camera...far worse than my P1 G1's IR camera. Either I have crappy drivers for it or the camera needs to be replaced.

Thank god for Premier Support - albeit, disappointing that they delayed shipping so long only to receive an unstable system and potentially defective IR camera.

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Tried again with latest 436.30 drivers directly from nVidia site.

Not working for me unless Hybrid is selected in BIOS (1.26).

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Sorry.  Hopefully Lenovo gets the drivers fixed ASAP.   It seems to me they are an unstable mess.

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

We found the bug about brightness and will fix it in the next BIOS version.  Sorry for this trouble.

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Hopefully you find a bunch of other bugs as well.  Especially the IR camera, which is either far worse hardware replacement vs. the P1G1 Ir camera OR there are serious issues with the drivers.   You can add the Intel 630 GPU drivers as well.  I can't even run them.  I had to enable discrete in the BiOS and just use the NVidia GPU since the Intel GPU causes flashing of the screen - freezing on the mouse/cursor.

Re: P1 Gen2 brightness control not working

Should this be fixed in 1.27? Installed latest Intel and nVidia drivers from Lenovo Support and brightness still doesn't work. Was working last week, not so much now.

And we're back...

Move delayed but still coming
