I have recently experienced some problems winth my P50 win 10 computer, where I can't play full Screen video in webbrowsers Chrome (f.ex. Youtube) on an external extended screen (the screen just goes black, but I can hear the sound, and when I press Esc. it seems for a fraction of a second theat it actually is in full screen, before it minimizes), and If I try to play the wideo in full screen on the laptops display, the external diaplsy "crashes" and the desktop is only shown on the laptops display, while an error is shown in the corner of the screen (translated from Danish) "unable to start screendriver"
As the computer is almost 1 year old, and I hadn't updated any of the drivers, I thought it would be a good idea to try that first, to solve the problem.
I had no problems installing the newest Nvidia drivers found on the p50 download page, but the Intel Graphic card drivers (also found on the P50 download page) wouldn't install, and when I tried to manually install them, The Inf file showed that the drivers would work with 510,520,535 etc., but NOT 530.
The drivers now seems to have been removed from the download page, so there are now no Intel HD530 drivers at all for P50.
The Nvidia drivers date and driver version is 10 jan 2017 126.96.36.19962,
The Intel driver date version is 07 jan 2016 188.8.131.5283
I don't even know if the drivers are the problem, but I find it quite strange that there are no update for the intel card, and that the newest driver that is installed, is more than a year ago old. On Intels driverpage the newest driver for HD 530 is no more than a few month old.

Have you tried installing the Lenovo System Update software and using it to check for newer device drivers?

Yes. I have installed that, and it updated a lot of drivers (and bioses) succesfully (not the bluetooth update though), but it didn't fix it... and the intel HD 530 driver is still more than a year old.
I have investigated further, and it seems that if I switch off hardware acceleration in Chrome, the video will play in full screen. In my search for a solution I also found a video on youtube (from 2014!) that suggested that if i I run Chrome in Vista SP2 combability mode, the problem should go away... and it does!? Chrome runs very slowly with this solution though.
I have then tried running a youtube video in full screen on the MS Edge browser and it works, so my problem might be with Chrome when it comes to it? But can Chrome make the graphic card drivers crash, so that both of the cards has yellow exclamation marks besides them, in hardware management? (see attached photo, that I have just generated)

I had a similar problem while watching YouTube videos on IE 11: Sound and no video.
I switched to Mozilla Firefox and the videos played without any problems, at full 1080p resolution.
I use the Lenovo System Update but the Intel P530 drivers are still quite old:

Have you tried un-installing the intel driver and deleting the driver software until the system only detects a MS basic adapter. I had this issue with Lenovo Ideapad's where I could not install the driver from Intel's site. I had to use DDU-unistaller to remove all the Intel gpu drivers listed on the system. When the system was just only detecting MS basic adapter, that was the only time I could install the driver from Intel.com
Hope this helps.

hey guys i have a question similar to the topic. i have a new P50 and wanted to upgrade all the drivers to the latest version. the lenovo companion updated the graphic driver for nvidia quadro only to v350 or so which is pretty old and didnt suggested any further updates. on the lenovo support page i found the drivers packeg for win10 184.108.40.20654 which updates the quadro m2000m driver up to 376.54. so my question is should i stick with the companion options or update manually.

I noticed that Lenovo just put out a new combined nVidia+Intel video driver package:
Could you try installing that and let us know the results?

i installed this driver package manually. for now it works perfectly - updates everything to the last versions. only i had now the new 3d vision driver and the old 3d vision controller driver. so i ended up unistalling the old 3d vision controller. i am curious why wouldn't lenovo comapnion and lenovo system update suggest it as an update. seems those arent working perfectly.

As a guess, the driver was just released on Lenovo's web site, so perhaps it takes a little time before it becomes available through Lenovo System Update.

I have following configuration
Problem: Intel HD Graphics 530 is not working, I think all graphics operations running on 4gb graphic card. My other lenovo laptop with 8g ram and 2gb radeon graphic card is working better now.
I tried to install Thinkpad Video Features (nvidia n16s/quadro n16p) - 10 . Installation finishes without error, but when I restart the updater, it is shown again. I tried manuel installation but no luck. Driver not working. I also tried resetting my pc with fresh install.
