I figured out that there is a "Thunderbolt Controller 1575" in Windows Device Manager if I enable that hidden devices should be shown. However, it's status is "Device not connected to computer. Code 45".
However, whenever I plug in the dock, I see the device list being refreshed, although no changes happen to it. So connecting the dock seems at least to trigger something.
I would appreciate to hear something from Lenovo about when they plan to release a firmware update for the P50 Thunderbolt Controller, since they have already realeased one for the P70. Right now there seems to be no Thuderbolt support on the P50.

I Just bought an DELL Thunderbolt Dock 180W version,
It also doesn't work with my P70.
I have 1.19 BIOS and updated Thunderbolt firmware.
Thunderbolt(TM) controller - 1577 is also hidden in device manager.
Lenovo please give some help!!!

One thing you could try is installing the Thunderbolt Software from the Dell site:
This seems to be the same as what is offered as "Thunderbolt Software" on the Lenovo driver site, it's directly from Intel. But the version you can download at Dell is newer. It should be vendor-independent and work on the P50/P70 as well.

This do not work either.
And after intsall this software, the Thunderbolt(TM) controller - 1577 will disappear from device list.
Now I can't get it back even uninstall dell software and reinstall lenovo one.

Have you enabled "Show hidden devices" (or something like this) in Windows device manager?
If you want to go back to the Lenovo version, start the installer of the Dell software once again. In my case it then detected that the software was already installed and promted other options, like repairing and uninstalling (!) the Dell version of the Thunderbolt Software.
Hope that helps

I think my problem is related - trying to use Thunderbolt to a projector and the second display was not detected. Nada.
Is this the lack of Thunderbolt support on the P50 so far?
If so, this needs an immediate fix.
