P50s Hardware encryption with Bitlocker

Has anyone tried to enable hardware based encryption on the P50s with Bitlocker and the SSD? If so, how did it go? I know that on some systems you need just the right combination of BIOS settings and drivers, so I wanted to check and see if anyone had done it and tips you had.

Re: P50s Hardware encryption with Bitlocker

The only way to get this to work is to use your own drive that supports the Microsoft eDrive standard.  Lenovo does not sell any drives like this, so any drive you get from Lenovo will not work with BitLocker in hardware mode.  However if you get your own drive and follow the manufacturer's instructions for setting up eDrive, it should work in the ThinkPad P50s (or any other recent ThinkPad).
