Re: P52 4K, reboot three times forever, after Update Intel ME 12.0 Firmware. Via Lenovo Vantage

There is an AMT setting in BIOS/Config. It says Disabled; no option to enable. I did not Permanently Disable, although I do normally run with it disabled.

The CTRL -P option shows entering ME, but has no effect.

Thanks.  Does everyone else having this problem previously set AMT to Disabled or Permanently Disabled in the BIOS?  When we tested firmware update, we used default settings (AMT = Enabled) and we didn't see this problem.

Just to keep things straight, I really don't care about getting AMT working. I DO care about the three boots and getting Windows Fast Boot working again.

My AMT BIOS settings haven't been changed.

OS reinstall and BIOS reset as default not help.

My P52 BIOS version  is 1.18.

I understand.  I just need to know how to reproduce the problem here, because our P52/P72 was able to update successfully and doesn't have the problem people are reporting here.  So I'd like feedback from others if they had previously disabled AMT in BIOS setup.

Try using Vantage to upgrade IME Firmware. The problem just happened after using Vantage.

Yes, that's what we did.

Not sure this is related but I just noticed that now (unlike when I got my P52 new), when I power on the system, the keyboard will flash on/off three times before the Lenovo logo shows up and it finally starts to boot.   My system seems to take much longer to POST than before.  Is anyone else seeing this ?

That's what we are calling "three boots".
