P70 bios update frozen

2016-12-16 10.33.16.jpgMy computer has been stuck at this screen for over an hour.

I was prompted for a bios update from lenovo. I accepted not thinking much about it but its been this way for an hour. Not sure what I should do. Please help.

Re: P70 bios update frozen

I am assuming it is under warranty.  If it were mine, I would call support while it was running and stuck.  In U.S. it is 1-800-426-7378

Re: P70 bios update frozen

Well after about an hour and a half. I figured it out. I unplugged all the usb devices and removed it from the docking station. The latter seemed to be the issue, once I removed it it continued with the update normally.

Re: P70 bios update frozen

I dont write BIOS code, but read many posts. It SEEMS BIOS post takes forever on USB devices in this state or that.  Your NEW solution is valuable to the forum.

During Bios update, please unplug external USB items.

Re: P70 bios update frozen

Yes. I have to remove the SSD. Otherwise the PC wont start after a bios update.
