I've got my P70 recently, and everything works well except I have 2 issues with the keyboard and trackpoint working together:
1) Holding down Fn keys with left click and drag of the trackpoint does not work: this is incredibly frustrating, for example pan, rotate, and zoom in autodesk inventor are bound to F2-F4 keys with left mouse click
2) There is about a 1-2 second lockout period for the trackpoint left click button after any keyboard button press. For example when trying to edit a bunch of lines in code, typing and moving to a new location does not work, because you have to keep left clicking untill the lockout expires.
Both of these issues make the machine essentially unusable in any professional software, either CAD or software development.
None of these issues show up if I plugin the old usb thinkpad travel keyboard that also has a trackpoint in it, so this must be either a hardware or a driver bug in the P70 itself.
Anybody else expririncing this issue or know a solution to this? Or perhaps I just got some bad hardware?

Hello.
Which OS are you running?

I'm running the stock windows 10 that came with the machine.

Alright.
I can't speak out on your Autocad issue, but the delay is a Windows feature, not related to hardware. Head on to Settings - Devices - Mouse & Touchpad and turn the Touchpad delay off. Then left clicking works instantly after a keypress. This feature came first on Windows 8 and drove me quite mad dealing with it on my T440s / T440p / W540 Clickpads until I found this setting.
The delay was present on my P70, and turning this off, i.e. to No Delay works for me.
Cheers!

Wow that solved it!
Both issues went away, for some reason I did not think that the touchpad delay could be effecting the trackpoint.
Thank you AtliJarl, you made my work machine usable again and returned my sanity to me!
