Since the OS was loaded on the M.2 drive before setting up a RAID array, you more than likely will need to install the Intel RSTe RAID driver. The Intel RSTe driver for P70 can be found here (http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-P-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-P...
Once you set up the RAID, you may need to boot the OS into Safe Mode to install the Intel RSTe driver to get around the BSOD issue.

Did you set up the RAID 1 before or after booting into Safe Mode and reinstalling the Intel RSTe driver?
You should also be able to set up a RAID 1 from within the Intel RSTe management utility from within Windows OS.
