P72 dual 4K monitors

Can anyone confirm that the P72 can output (via display port or usb c) to dual 4k monitors?  As far as I can tell it should since it meets the display port 1.4 standard, but want to confirm, or make sure it doesn't need specific processor or graphics card.

Re: P72 dual 4K monitors

I have had mine driving a 4K Wacom Cintinq (3840x2160), My Dell 3714 (3440x1440) and my Dell 2715 (2560x1440).  Thats not two external 4K monitors but it is 1-4K and two very large monitors.

Here is a picture of my setup.

Re: P72 dual 4K monitors

Looks awesome, thanks!  From the standards it sounded like it should output with no problem.

How do you have everything connected?

Re: P72 dual 4K monitors

I have a TB3 dock under the P72 on the stand.  I connect the two Dell Monitors directly to the dock via the wide DP connectors.  My Wacom is connected directly to the back of the P72 on what is Port 1 of the two TB connectors on the back using a TB3 cable.  The dock has a power/TB3 connecting cable.  The TB port right next to the power input on the back of the P72 is physically port 2.

This picture was a "Demo" picture.  In real use, when I have the Wacom running I power off the two Dell monitors.  The problems lies with the software I'm using, in this case Toonboom Harmony, Windows 10 and how Windows 10 handles extended monitors.  Harmony running on a Cintiq display does not like extended screens.  Don't ask me why, I don't have a clue.  The problem manifests itself in that when your draw on the Cintiq in Harmony, the line you draw ends up getting offset by a set number of pixels from the tip of the pen.  Turns out the more extended displays you have, the more it gets offset.  Go figure.  You want to have something drive you absolutely nuts?  Try drawing where your drawing is 1.5" away from the tip of your pencil.  Trust me no amount of alcohol fixes that issue.  ;-).   It's funny because other apps such as Corel Painter do not do this.  It's not a big deal as I tend to be either focused on working in Harmony or doing something else.

I LOVE the 34" Dell.  I wish I could get one of the new 38" curved Dell monitors.  Having that much real estate in doing the work I do (2D/3D animation) is the bomb.  I can have lots of reference windows up as well as the app and I still have space left over.  Beleive it or not, when I'm not rendering... just runing the monitors the P72 runs nice and cool.  No fan noise and it's not even working hard.  Now if I fire up Doom or kick of a render, yea the fans kick in but in straight working mode I hear the noise from my router/switch more than my P72.

Wow, impressive! Well organised!

Is that a vintage HP calculator on the desk? :-)

LOL... Not really vintage. HP35s which you can still buy. My 41c gave up the ghost a while back. ;-( and I'm too ingrained into using RPN. When it comes to calculators I have real problems using a standard 4 banger. I can't think without a stack.
