My Thinkpad P51 20HH comes with 4k display panel, but beeing damaged, and I cannot find a vender to get a 4k replacement part. I wonder if I can just replace the damaged LCD with a FHD (1920 x 1080). Please help or advise where i can buy a 4k screen panel with a reasonable price.

I think 4k parts are 00NY651 or 00NY653 (different manufacturers). It looks to me like the 4k screen needs different hinges. I'm not sure about the

Yes. just like what Richk said, the FRU should be 00NY651 or 00NY653 and 00NY659 as alternatives. Here is a picture of parts from my Lenovo account (my laptop is out of warranty now).

To replace the 4k screen at a lower cost than a lenovo part number google B156ZAN02.1. My 4k P51 came with this panel. Make sure to request exactly B156ZAN02.1 and you should be on your way at a similar price to a FHD panel.

I have the same question. My laptop is a 20HJ with 4K display.
I have tried to replace it with LP156WF6-SPK1 (00HT921) from eBay - display shows the image, brightness is adjustable. I was not able to install the display driver because the system can not find Lenovo laptop display. I have found a workaround for it and changed .inf file to handle LCD panel LGD04A7 name instead of LEN40BA (my guess - Lenovo's name for the same LG panel) and installed display and graphics card drivers manually. The next problem is - Intel HD Graphics Control Panel in application settings says that "No application found. Press Browse to find more applications." Pantone color calibrator app says "Unable to find the Lenovo laptop display to be calibrated. ..."
My questions are:
- How could I fix it?
- Will placing the original 00HT921 FRU fix this issue?
- Could I use another LG display with wider sRGB coverage for it (like LP156WF6-SPB1)?
Thank you in advance
