Running 1 core at max=harmful?

Hi all,

I have a couple of older programs that, while they run in my current Win7 home setup, also max one of the two cores.

Will running these programs (maxing out one of my four cores for 1-8 hours/day) cause problems with my P50 (processor=i7-6820hq)?  Does it hurt the processor or other parts of the laptop to have one core maxed while the others are idle?
