This is the message I get @ boot... and lately I also get an error message as soon as I log on to windows:

Incorrect AC adapter is attached.

This AC adapter may not provide enough power to your ThinkPad. Please reconnect the proper AC adapter.

What the hell? I've googled it and some people say that reinstalling the Thinkwantage Powermanager might fix it. If not call warranty support.

My W520 is only a couple months old **bleep** it... 2000+$ machine...

I don't want to bark prematurely but after I uninstalled the bloatware and the driver @ reboot, I was not greeted by the error message anymore, nor when I logged into windows.

I wonder how long the miracle will last.

CAN SOMEBODY tell me, if this trully was a software issue, what produces it? Will they fix this in the future? ...with a software update or something?

Scrap that. I reinstalled. Had no problems for about a week, but the errors are back.

Who should I write @ lenovo so they fix this glitch in the driver / software?

The message on your first post is coming from the BIOS and not from any driver. The second message IS coming from the Power Manager as a result of the BIOS setting the condition flag. Please install BIOS 1.33 and determine if the problem is eliminated. Current Power Manager level is 3.64, Power Management Driver 1.64.

Updated my bios.

I updated the power manager driver (1.64) and software (3.64) before this, but as I said before the problem showed up again after a couple days of use.

I'm curious. Will this 1.33 BIOS update (Embedded controller version 1.19) cure this problem once and for all.

The problem is back....

Last try. I'm going to uninstall the power manager bloatware and driver and see what happens.

If I get the error again, I'll have to send the charger back I guess.
