Thinikpad p52 cannot be cooled down

Hi,

I have new P52 and I have serious issues with overheating. Default HW settings won't start fan until cpu is above 80°C. If I take over control, and set it to maximum speed I'm eventually able to cool it down to 40°C, which is good number for fan turned off (when we speak about desktop). If I run some stress testing, with fan manually  at max speed(~3500RPM), then full load brings 40°C CPU to 100°C *instantly*. No gradual increase of temperature, instant jump to 100°C, where it stays.

Is this normal? Is this laptop considered to be safe performing at such high levels of temperature?

Mine is behaving the same way.  I have undervolted the CPU by 165mv and it works better, temperature stays in the 90s under heavy load.  Not good thermal design.
