ThinkPad P50 RAID 0 performance

I've tried experimenting with my ThinkPad P50 equiped with 2 1 TB PM961 and RAID 0 but now matter what I do, I can't seem to get better performance than 3000Mbit/s read and write speed in CrystalDiscMark. Not sure if that is good or bad, what performance is to be expected with this configuration?

Have experimented with different configrations with write cache etc but that doesn't seem to make all that much of a difference.

Re: ThinkPad P50 RAID 0 performance

Sounds about right for that SSD in RAID 0. You might change the Threads to 4 which could make a small difference on the write speed performance.

Here's the performance on the PM961 on my T460s:

Note the effect of changing the number of active threads.

Re: ThinkPad P50 RAID 0 performance

According to your screen image, the number of threads seem to be the same in both runs?

Tried running everything from 1 to 9 but didn't really make any difference. My writespeeds are double of yours it seems, not sure if the size of the SSD affect performance (mine are also PM961). Read speeds actually decreased a bit in RAID 0 compared to non raid (which was close to 3000 Mbit/s but I guess anything within 10% range is more circumstantial).

Re: ThinkPad P50 RAID 0 performance

T1 = 1 thread

T4 = 4 threads

The T460s has no RAID capability. Running RAID 0 on your P50 will yield double the write speed of a single SSD because of the parallel writes.
