ThinkPad P71 and 'Lenovo Drive Bay Adapter Internal'

2017-11-11, 16:21 PM

I have just received my ThinkPad P71 and I am a little confused about 'Lenovo Drive Bay Adapter Internal' [
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ALBIFA4/ ].

This is for P70 but whereever I looked, P70 is identical to P71 as far as this sort of stuff goes; or so they say.

Even though I am interested in it (for its heat sink), when I open up the P71, there's hardly any room for such an adapter.

Does anyone know if it fits the P71?

Hi adem0x,

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

Technically no mounting kit or Drive Bay Adapter is required for installing M.2 drives in that bay, (source)

I hope the above information helped you.

Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Regards,
Prabhansh

Those are for the P50/P51.  The P70/P71 doesn't use or need them.
