Thanks so much! I replaced the jack, turned my computer on, and it booted before saying "fan error." I didn't reapply thermal paste, so I'll do that and hopefully everything will work. :smileyvery-happy

Alright, laptop is working! However, it says the battery isn't charging-- either in the system tray or the LED indicators on the outside. However, as long as it's plugged in, I can use my laptop and the battery won't decrease. Any ideas for what the problem might be?
EDIT: Never mind, it died on me again. A little frustrating.

Welcome to the forum
You can find the necessary steps in the hardware maintenance manual: (source: click me!)
Be aware that replacing the power jack means disassembling quite a few parts, you can see the details on chapter 9 - 1210, page 105 (check the page # printed in the document, not the one your pdf viewer says).

I guess you should check in Youtube, there use to be repair videos hosted in the Lenovo Support site, but I can't find now the ones for the W530/T530.
The power jack should be easy to find, here's a picture out of an eBay auction: click me!
Be careful to get one exactly for the W530 and not one for a T530.

Not in Chapter 9,
Is very small and tiny but it is there
If I remember correctly, it has an additional screw on the base (not shown in the manual). Or maybe it was in the W520... I have disassembled a few W530, but it was a while ago...
