Re: Thinkpad P50 graphics 22.21.13.8229 (2017/09/05) crash when wake up from sleep

Lenovo:  is this issue getting anymore attention? It's marked solved, but it's not really a solution.  I'm hoping a driver update will fix this ongoing issue.

Re: Thinkpad P50 graphics 22.21.13.8229 (2017/09/05) crash when wake up from sleep

The recent Fall Creator Update from Microsoft has reenforced the OS to install the latest Intel Graphics driver. This results in the sleeping/wakeup issue due to the buggy Intel graphics driver. I cannot even roll back because all previous drivers have been removed from the update.

So, people who want to do the FCU update, please be aware of this issue. Or, Lenovo stuff should let us know how they have tested P50 is compatible with the FCU update. I am waiting for a permanent solution.

Re: Thinkpad P50 graphics 22.21.13.8229 (2017/09/05) crash when wake up from sleep

Rolling back originally saved me from this problem, but the recent Windows Update forced the latest driver on me again, and grayed-out the roll-back button.

I've tried various driver installations for 21.20.16.4550, but all of them fail (mostly "Your computer is not suitable" or something). If anyone could post a proper driver installation for this version I'd greatly appreciate it. It'd also probably be wise to unmark the solution in this thread since I'm willing to bet a lot more people are about to experience this bug when updating windows.

Re: Thinkpad P50 graphics 22.21.13.8229 (2017/09/05) crash when wake up from sleep

@hoangnhat1613, if you read your thread, please unmark this thread as solved. Given that the recent Windows 10 Fall Creator Update forces all users not to be able to roll back to an earlier version of the driver, the solution provided doesn't work anymore after the windows update. Your action will increase the visibility for Lenovo engineers to look into this driver issue.

Intel people have been working on this issue, but they claim this issue is not a sole graphics driver issue and BIOS updates from manufacturers could fix this issue from the root. I was trying the latest Intel driver, 15.45.21.4821, but it always fails on my P50. I hope Lenovo staff (@) can say a word about their process. Thanks!

Yes. Thanks silverwolf86. I've seen it at intel's forum.

Using windows update did not help. It does not show any new hotfix or new driver.
Manual using Microsoft download link and problem resolved.

Intel is still working on the fix for this video driver problem.  It will be a driver fix.

Until then, the latest working version of the video driver is here:  https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-P-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-...

NVIDIA: 22.21.13.8229

Intel:  21.20.16.4550

Just now, I upgraded from Win10 1703 to Win10 1709 and it kept these versions installed.

Re: Thinkpad P50 graphics 22.21.13.8229 (2017/09/05) crash when wake up from sleep

Thank you for the heads up. Unfortunately, the installer won't replace my 22 driver with the 21 version on the basis that "a better version was detected, didn't install".

Would it be safe to uninstall the driver and then try the installer? I've only not done so yet because I don't want to permanently damage something on my computer by trying that.

Yes, it is safe to do that.  I would recommend uninstalling both Intel and NVIDIA drivers from Device Manager, and make sure to choose the option about deleting the driver software.  Then, re-install using the package I linked previously.
