Suddenly my Thinkpad P51 fingerprint reader stopped working under Windows 10 (64-bit). It is gone in the Device Manager too. I have googled and tried everything possible (I/O ports are enabled in the BIOS, reinstalled latest fingerprint drivers from https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-p-series-laptops/thinkpad-... etc.).
I went to the BIOS and tried to reset fingerprint data. It showed (see attachment):
No fingerprint reader is attached.
I think it is a hardware issue.
