Thinkpad W520 doesn't recognize bluetooth headset

I have a nice bluetooth headset that goes over one ear.  It's a GE model 86710 and is compliant with bluetooth v1.2.  I want to use it to listen to Internet radio stations and with Skype.  I'm trying to pair it with my new Thinkpad W520 running Windows 7 64bit Professional.  Both the laptop and Windows 7 are current with updates as of 7/3/2011.  When I turn my bluetooth radio on (Fn + F5) and the headset on and click on the add new device button, only my roommate's bluetooth computer is displayed as available bluetooth devices.  How can I get Windows 7 to recognize my bluetooth headset?  I was able to use this headset with Windows XP and Bluesoleil software in the past.  I would prefer not to purchase Bluesoleil software for Windows 7 since it is quite expensive.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Thinkpad W520 doesn't recognize bluetooth headset

That was it. I thought I was setting it to discoverable mode, but it wasn't in discoverable mode. I checked the manual to find out how to do it. This time it found the bluetooth headset and installed the driver. It works great now.

Thank you very much for your suggestion!!!
