Thinkpad w541 default network adapter?

2018-06-19, 14:56 PM

I have an employee that is trying to utilize the wifi adapter in his laptop to maintain access to the outside world while using his ethernet to connect to a local isolated testing environment.

The wi-fi shows that it stays connected to the wider internal network and maintains it's assigned IP but as soon as the wired connection is plugged in the laptop seems to prioritize it over the wifi and it loses the ability to connect to the outside world.

Is there a way to force the wireless connection to be the default connection when trying to connect to the internet?

Would adjusting the interface priorities be sufficient?
