Thunderbolt Controller on P50

I just got a P50 with the M1000M and a Thunderbolt 3 display.   I am trying to get a Startech.com Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter to work to run my 27" Apple Thunderbolt display.   I have updated about every driver there is, yet I get "Ensure you are using the right cable" message and nothing shows up in my "attached device" list for thunderbolt (when I run the app).  I noticed that in the Device Manager there is no Thunderbolt Controller showing up also...

I am running the graphics cards now in discrete mode.  Also am running Win10.    Any help would be appreciated.  I got this computer primarily because of the Thunderbolt 3, so I could still use my old display.

Re: Thunderbolt Controller on P50

Have you tried to get a TB3 monitor working? Sounds like the issue might be in the TB3 to TB2 conversion.
