USB - C to HDMI & Think Pad P50

I have 2 Acer Monitors I am trying to connect to my think pad (P50). One is connected via HDMI, and is working fine. The other i've connected via USB - C to HDMI, and is not working. The second monitor registers in the display setting as connected, but nothing displays on the screen. I've switched the cords between the two monitors, and both work, so this leads me to believe that either:

A. I cannot connect the monitor via the USB - C to HDMI cord

B. The P50 doesn't support this kind of display

But I could be off base, so I'm looking for advice before I go spending any more money.

Thank you

Re: USB - C to HDMI & Think Pad P50

1. What happens if you disconnect the HDMI attached monitor, do the USB-C monitor get any picture?

2. Have you tried a mini displayport to HDMI adapter?

3. What are the native resolution of the Acer monitors?

4. Your P50 has thunderbolt on the USB-C port. Is the thunderbolt firmware up to date?

From the platform specification:
P50 supports external digital monitor via HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, or Thunderbolt;
supports four independent displays;

Note USB-C missing but I am pretty sure I have tried it in the past (USB.C to VGA) on P50.

Re: USB - C to HDMI & Think Pad P50

Thank you!
1. Nothing appeared on the USB-c monitor
2. Yes, I had one, tried it, and it worked (currently using now).
3. 1920 x 1080. I believe this is the model: XF270H BBMIIPRZX
4. I'm not sure. It's a new work computer, and I'm pretty limited with what I can install/update/download. Going to look into this when I'm back in the office on Monday.

Re: USB - C to HDMI & Think Pad P50

Based om your feedback it seems you found a workaround!

I would suspect the USB-C adapter to be incompatible or outdated firmware on the P50.
