[Update]
I have uninstalled the driver and reinstalled. But unfortunatelly, the same mistakes happen.
I think it should be the issue of the sensor itself. Anyone knows how to replace the sensor? can anyone provide the instructions document?

Can’t set up fingerprint login on my ThinkPad P70.
Not sure what caused the issues. Windows 10? Fingerprint sensor broken? Thanks
The video here shows the set up process:
The fingerprint sensor driver is up to date

Did you just recently install Windows Spring Creators Update (Version 1803)? It is known to mess with the fingerprint system. The solution is to reinstall the driver.
You say your driver is up to date. But did you install it just now, or did you check the version number only?
If you just checked the version number, I would recommend as a first step to reinstall the fingerprint driver.

You can find instructions in the P70 hardware maintenance manual here:

But you need to replace the entire keyboard bezel. The sensor is integrated into that. I don't know if there is any other way.
It is also a FRU part, meaning you should not do servicing yourself (could void warranty is something goes wrong).
Also, the sensor connects with a cable to the main board. So the error might be there as well? Maybe?
If the system is still under warranty, I would recommend contacting support.
