W500 and IBM Symphony

2010-01-13, 9:15 AM

Hi,

I have located this strange issue:

while using IBM Symphony "present" (power-point like app) objects are drawn extremely slowly on the screen e.g. if I click in a text box on a clean page, it takes about 1 second to draw the frame surrounding the text box.

I have found this to only happen in windows XP, using the ATI disaply card with the 633 driver version (latest from lenovo as of today 13/1/2010

I was able to work around this by:

1. using the intel display card.

2. using the ATI card with an older driver (preinstalled one on my machine was from january 2009, 53x I think.

any hints? I will keep testing further and keep posting here

Thanks!

Only thought... try using  Symphony set to use OpenGL, not directX.

hi Wendel,

Thanks for your thoughts :-)

however as far as I know there is no suc option for Symphony - am i wrong ?

BTW as far as workarounds go I set the machine to use the intel card and that works ok.

at any rate, thanks again.
