Hi there
I am busy considering the W510 notebook. I have done a seach of the forums and not found an answer, I am hoping someone here could shed some light on the matter of switchable graphics on the W510.
As the Intel Calpella platform has onboard integrated graphics anyway surely it would surely make sense to make the graphics switcable between the onbaord and the dedicated Nvidia FX880m when mobile to conserve battery life. I see that Nvidia have launched something called "Optimus" -- it does not seem applicable to the FX 880M -- might it or something like it be adde via firmware or the Lenovo Bios updates.
I am new to Lenovo so am not sure that their policy are with adding features like this.

The W510 ships with Clarksfield-based quad core processors. These lack the integrated GPU found in the dual-core i3 & i5 processors. There's nothing to switch to.
