Re: W510 Sleep issue

ecarballo,
Sorry ecarballo, I am a bit confused here. I thought your issue was resolved after placing the Crucial RAM to the Slot 0?

All,
After reading through the posts here, I think there are two different situations for sleep issue: RAM and Power Management. However, we could not conclude what is happening yet. It would be better if you share your machine configurations with other users in this discussion.

Info:

  • Machine Type Model
  • BIOS version
  • Power Manager version
  • Power Management Driver version
  • Operating System (e.g. Win 7 home premium 64bit)
  • RAM installed
  • Frequency of occurence (e.g. 8 out of 10 times)

Personally, I do not think it is hardware issue, but let's see what we can find out here first.

Regards,
Cleo

Re: W510 cannot wake up from sleep

Hi All,

Did you put the system into sleep manually by Fn+F4 or it went into sleep mode automatically in a specified time?

Did you try to wake it up using fn key or power button?

Does the system able to wake up from hibernation mode?

Does it happen when system is plugged in with battery, AC Adapter or combination of both?

Cleo

Re: W510 cannot wake up from sleep

Sleep: Manually from start menu, fn+f4, lid etc etc

Wake: power button, open lid, fn+f4

Hibernation = OK, no problems at all

Happens both on AC and battery

Re: W510 cannot wake up from sleep

Joakim,

Just want to double confirm with you.

Did you try waking it up with only fn key itself? (not fn+f5, just fn)

Did you set the sleep configuration in Lenovo Power Manager?

Ok, I'll get my team mate JameZ to take over this case. He'll join in here later.
