W520 Base System Device PCI Bus 13 missing driver

2012-10-16, 22:18 PM

I have this as an "other device" in device manager.  I had to do a full reinstall a month ago but thought all the things were installed.  Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Also there is a second "unknown device" with location "on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller" are these related or is this a second issue that I need help with?

Thank you!

'evening...

If you open Device Manager, right-click the "Other" device and select Properties, then select the Details tab and choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown, please copy/paste the info you see in the Value section of the window back here.

Regards.

Thats the Ricoh Memory Card Reader on the W520. I'll add the link once I get the support page up.

http://www.pcidatabase.com/search.php?device_search_str=E823 <-- this tells what the device is

I have the same problem with XP on W520 4260-A49 accept it is pointing at the video.

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DFA&SUBSYS_21D117AA&REV_A1\4&1528093B&0&0008
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0126&SUBSYS_21D117AA&REV_09\3&B1BFB68&0&10

I ran the video drivers and it said it was  incompatible.

I have almost the same hardware but installing the latest Ricoh driver has NOT helped. I have the latest driver for everything. BTW the cardreader works fine when I am running Ubuntu.

I had this same problem install Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto a W520 4270-CTO and thought I'd provide my solution in case someone else runs into the same problem. There isn't a Ricoh Card Reader driver listed on Lenovo's page for the W520 using Win 8.1, but there is one for 8.0. The same card reader is used in the W530 and of course there is a Win v8.1 driver for it, so I decided to use it and all is well.

Cheers!
