Briefly, Ive been using my W530 for 4 months without issue.
Last month I was prompted for a BIOS update via Lenovo Update.
The BIOS was then flashed and updated.
Since then I have been plagued with random shutdowns and the inability for the laptop to power on when hitting the power button.
The only way to power on my laptop when having these issues is to use the ritualistic 10 press of the power button followed by a press and hold for 30 seconds of the power buttton to discharge potential static.
This worked, until recently it would not work at all.
I then removed the CMOS under the laptop keyboard and the machine was powering on with one press of the power button and didnt randomly shut off anymore.
The new CMOS battery arrived and I installed it and now the machine fails to power on at all with or without a CMOS wether its the new one, old one or none at all.
When pressing power you hear a noise as if something is running through it and then the green circle around the power button stays solid for 3 seconds then it goes off and it never starts.
Any thoughts from the community possibly?
Thanks for your time and effort.

A new BIOS (UEFI) firmware update, Version 2.72, was released yesterday fore the ThinkPad W530. You can download it from:
You might want to try installing that and seeing if it resolves the issue.
