When you press the power button, does anything happen? Are there any sounds, lights, etc.? Also, if you remove the battery and the power adapter from the computer, then hold the power button down for 15 seconds, this should clear all the charge and power from the computer. You can give this a try and then plug the computer in again and see if anything changes.
Best of luck, and let me know how it goes,

I had or have the same issue: Black screen, just some power, keyboard and screen led´s flashing: left the computer early december 2012 with some numerical simulation on friday, came in the office on sunday to pick it up and the screen remained black. Called the hotline for next day onsite service but the part was not available. 2 weeks later the competent hotline was not able to tell when the part would be available. in 2013 we although I asked the competent hotline what their escalation procedure was ( question was ignored) we were promoted to the customer delight department.
I did google on what customer delight actually means....
so the status is that end of January the replacement could be shipped in 10-14 days. Where could means: there is a possibility that they will ship, but 4 weeks in january were quite silent appart from the fact that the particullar model was not deliverable anymore (how is that with spare parts?)...
So now it´s guessing what is really happening from the hardwarewere standpoint? is there a structural overheating problem? I don´t know. Initially I liked the lenovo w530 in the first few weeks when it worked. The hotline is poor, next day onsite is a farce when parts are not on stock, escallation is worse, customer delight. It´s a joke.
