I'm planning on purchasing a W530 relatively soon, and I would like to upgrade my primary HDD to an SSD. I am also going to get an HDD in the ultrabay. Given that the forums made it seem rather complicated, I'm going to just have lenovo install the ultrabay HDD as an upgrade, rather than try to move the primary one myself. The pricing doesn't seem that much different anyway.
My question is regarding the SSD. I am thinking about just buying the ThinkPad 256GB OPAL-capable FDE SSD from the Lenovo accessory store, since I get a fairly hefty discount on it with the employee discount. It says that the sequential read/write speeds are high (400 and 490 MB/s), but I have been unable to find reviews of the Thinkpad SSDs anywhere. Are they good drives, or is worth paying extra money to get an alternate brand? I also figured that the installation of a Thinkpad SSD would be the most straightforward.
