I've distributed in my office several W540 and Buffalo MiniStation External HDD HD PATU3 to my employees for data backup via Thunderbolt interface.
Unfortunately, the Thunderbolt interface works as expected.
The latest Lenovo drivers I have already installed.
Buffalo itself provides through its website no drivers for the Thunderbolt interface.
It would be nice if someone could help me.

I had the same problem with a Seagate Thunderbolf HDD adapter. The Seagate Thunderbolt driver for Windows did not work. Lenovo L2 support found a LaCie Thundebolt driver worked, and I have found it works well. This is the link for the LaCie Thunderbolt driver:

I also have a ThinkPad W540, Lacie rugged USB3.0/Thunderbolt 2TB 9000299 is the same;
According to the requirement, drive me to download and install the following link:
LaCie Thunderbolt driver:
However, I have the following error during the installation process of thedrive:
Results are not available to connect to the Lacie rugged USB3.0/Thunderbolt2TB lightning
Are you using the electric W540, what is the operating system? Win7? Win8?Win8.1?

"electric W540"-----I use the word error................
I just changed the Windows 7, can now normal Thunderbolt interface connection.
Should be the LaCie official Thunderbolt driver, does not support Windows 8.1.
