W540 Screen issue

Hi, I have W540 with windows 8.1 installed and completely updated. The problem is that after the laptop is awaken from sleep, laptop screen won't turn on and I see that laptop is working.

If I have 2 screens connected I see on the second screen that after laptop is awaken from sleep, windows is loaded and ready to enter username  and on the primary, laptop screen, is completely turned off. I tried disconnecting cables in order to force laptop to turn on the screen but still nothing. Can you help. Everytime after sleep was used, I need to manually force turn off laptop and then it starts normally and the picture is displayed on the screen.

Re: W540 Screen issue

I know on windows 7, if you have a second screen, the login will only show on the primary monitor.

however, this seems different.

try updating the video drivers for your intel and nvida gpus from

downloadcenter.intel.com and nvidia.com

I tried update (through Lenovo Software Update and through nvidia experience) but the problem is not resolved. Any other ideas? What could be the problem ?

Re: W540 Screen issue

Hi Hemanth and thank you for your reply. I saw that this thinkpad doen't have Power management installed. Can you please give me links where I can download power management. I could only find SCCM power management which I do not need.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Aleksandar
