I am hoping someone has found a solution to the following:-
I have a W540 in a ultradock docking station with three external monitors and I have advanced mode on dock enabled to utilise the NVIDIA graphics however on boot the bios screen is not shown on any of the external monitors.
As I have a bios password then as it does not display the prompt on the external monitors then I need to guess if it is asking for the password or not. It is a minor irritation especially if an error message or something stops the boot.
From the following article I can solve the issue by using standard video mode but I wish to use the advanced mode.
The following are my display settings in the bios:-
Boot Display Device [Display on dock]
total graphics memory [512MB]
Video mode on Dock [Advanced]
Discrete GFX Perf Mode [High Performance]
Boot Time Extension [Disabled] - I have tried setting this to the maximum but no joy
I have updated the firmware of the bios and the dock but to no avail - any suggestions on how to show the bios on the external monitors with advanced mode enabled?
