W700 black screen when using /3GB switch in XP

Help! I have a new W700 (2758-MXU) with the nvidia Quadro FX 2700M 512MB video card, WinXP 32 bit - downgraded from Vista, RAID1 config., 4GB installed but Windows System Properties reports 2.49GB. I set the /3GB switch in the boot.ini file, but after the Windows XP logo during the boot, the display goes black and it never comes back. If I boot without the switch the display works fine. I have tried different display resolutions. The display driver is the latest version, 6.14.11.8758. I have to run 32b XP and I need access to the rest of the 3GB. Has anyone else seen this or had a similar problem and found a workaround?

Thanks, William.

See the following, William, which may be a more convenient solution for what you're trying to do:

and:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Virtual_PC

System requirements

System requirements for Windows Virtual PC:[9][10]
1+ GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
1.25 GB memory required (2 GB recommended)
Additional 15 GB of hard disk space per virtual Windows environment recommended
A Processor with Hardware Assisted Virtualisation Technology AMD-V or Intel-VT is optional but will make the virtual machine perform slightly better.

Originally (Before March 19th 2010) Hardware Virtualistation was a mandatory requirement and therefore a tool for checking whether a PC supported Windows Virtual PC could be downloaded. This is no longer required.
