Why my P50 stutters while connecting to a monitor via mini displayport?

2018-07-30, 18:44 PM

I'm suffering from a creepy issue that my P50(E3-1505M, 16G non-ECC, M2000M) stutters while connecting with my external monitor (Dell U2410@1920*1200) via the onboard mini displayport.

It seems no problem while I connecting them via the onboard HDMI port, but if I connect them via the mini displayport (wether a miniDP-DP cable or a miniDP-DVI cable), the PC stutters while running 3D programs (like some 3D games), and, meanwhile, the CPU usage gets EXTREMLY high.

I just want to know what's the issue probably be in this case? The Graphic card seems normal, and the mini displayport works, but how can a mini displayport connection makes the CPU usage high?

Thank you!
