Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

Hello,

I've had my W520 for more than a year and when the unit from sleep, Wlan would always reconnect within SECOND. However as the system got old, became slow and buggy, I did a fresh install of it, installed all drivers, but now waking from sleep, Wlan takes more than 10sec to reconnect! Any idea what I forgot?

Thanks.

Re: Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

Also had issue which was the Wlan losing connection every 5 minutes or so, this happening randomly some days during hours. I notified customer service about that, they asked me to update drivers first.Didn't help so I called back and they said before we can send a replacement part, we need more information. Then I receive their mail and they ask for screenshots.. Too see I indeed updated drivers..? And other unrelated things. I ask WHY asking these, by mail they just ignore me, at phone they keep repeating we need those things, this is normal. Well if like to talk to A HUMAN that can answer my questions, not a robot that only repeat what his paper say or keep mute

What WIFI driver did you install?  Have a link to the download?

Yes I have it installed. The driver's last version from Lenovo website (July 2012). What about the "support"?

I'd try uninstalling Access Connections.

Which wireless adapter do you have?

Re: Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

Intel 6300 (or was it 9300?) Access connection is the thing when you press fN+F5, right? And once again, nothing to say about CS? How can I complain? They refuse to transfer me to their superior, I tried calling all number I found already...

Re: Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

Look in your Programs and Features (uninstall) list for Windows. If there's a ThinkVantage Access Connections, uninstall it.

Try getting the latest Intel 6300 driver off of Intel's Download Center instead of Lenovo's driver list.

Not sure about customer service, though.

Re: Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

I mean, did they ever ask you such things... Such "proofs" as they say? Doesn't it seems strange to you? I heard some people from Lenovo turn around here sometimes so i posted, hope some will see this thread... By the way, on my old windows, where there is instant re-connect after wake, i have Access Connections installed, so i think there's an option somewhere but that this app isn't making trouble..

Re: Wi-Fi instant connect after wake? And issue with the customer support

I've never really called them for anything similar, so I can't really speak to that.

Sometimes I think Access Connections gets muddied up and goes into conflict with Windows. Just a guess; I haven't used Access Connections for ages.
