Will P70 support Lenovo OEM P5000?

Hi Lenovo,

I have a P70 with M5000M. I am thinking about upgrading the graphic card by an OEM P5000 once available.

Will the P70 BIOS block P5000? If not, then a P71 thermal assembly also needed?

Thanks your attention.

Re: Will P70 support Lenovo OEM P5000?

I am curious about this topic too.

As rendering capability of the Pascal quadro is about twice of the previous generation,

This upgrade seems very attractive if technically possible.

Please consider this!

I gave up the original idea. Now, simply use thunderbolt and a GForce 1080 TIMan Happy

The P70 will not support the P5000 GPU.

Can you explain why?

P70 i7-6700HQ, UHD 4K, 32GB non-ECC RAM, M600M NVIDIA GPU, TOSHIBA-RD400 512GB PCIe-NVMe SSD, TOSHIBA-MQ01ACF 512GB SATA HDD, Windows 10Pro, BIOS 2.15

Because how else would they sap you for another machine purchase?  White list BIOS and stuff like this is why I get angry about a week after my thinkpad purchase every last time.
