...I uninstalled RapidBoot (I don't need it since I use a SSD drive).
I have looked through the Lenovo documentation and I don't see any references to the RapidBoot software not being required if a SSD is installed. Is your decision just personal preference, or are you aware of a reason why it should not be used with a SSD?
On another tangent, I found the following remarks about RapidBoot on the Lenovo website when trying to gather more information about it: RapidBoot for Windows 7. This provides a little bit of information about what this software does.

Thanks so much for this. I had the same problem and it was the RapidBoot v1.00 causing the issue. Rather than uninstall it though I just ran the ThinkVantage System Update and it detected an update for RapidBoot and updated it to version 1.12 and the problem seems to be fixed

I had the opposite effect
I was trying to disable wsearch and it kept getting re-enabled
Using auditing turned up nothing?
Services.exe was the one changing the status??
Turned off Rapid Boot and all is well
Rapid Boot v1.23

I have removed RapidBoot but my T430 keeps disabling the windows search feature whenever it sleeps. Any ideas of something else to try? Where do I look to see why, or what's causing this? ie a log?

This stream is very helpful. I have the same Windows Search disabling itself on my X220, which is now three years old.
How do I either update RapidBoot, or get rid of it?
