All too often, I have to wait 3+ hours before doing a cold boot due to an install that is frozen. At times I had to reinstall from a recent backup due to crashes as I cold booted not knowing what this black box was doing.
See: You can tell if Windows updates are stuck if nothing happens on screen for 3 hours or more. If there's any wonder after that long, take a look at your hard drive activity light. You'll see either no activity at all (stuck) or very regular but very short flashes of light (not stuck).
So... how can this so called workstation tell me what is going on internally? All the user maintenance negates any speed advantage.
Is there some Windows 10 secret window that will tell me if I should wait as an install is being done, OR waste time waiting AND NOT BEING PRODUCTIVE.
Maybe someone here knows the reason why I cannot see any activity light on the W540 and I gues W541??
Right now, I appear to be stuck at 19% upgrade/install.
